MARY MILLER

Attorney

Mary A. Miller is an estate planning attorney licensed in New York State and admitted to practice law in all New York State Courts as well as the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York State. Ms. Miller lectures regularly on the subjects of estate planning and elder law. She is a member of the Westchester County Bar Association (Trusts & Estates Section and Elder Law Committee), the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association (Elder Law Section and Trusts & Estates Section) and a proud member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys.

Experience

In her earliest work experiences, Mary offset her educational expenses and learned compassion for the elderly first as a volunteer and then as a nurse’s aide at Ozanam Hall Nursing Home located in Queens, New York. Ms. Miller began her professional business career as an industry analyst for a small economic and market research firm on Long Island, where she authored several published studies of various US industries. After graduating from college, her interests in economics and finance led her to Wall Street where she spent several years at E.F. Hutton & Co. rising to Assistant Vice President on the Over-the-Counter Trading Desk and holding a Series 7 Securities License. Upon earning her law degree, she spent a short time representing small issuers in private securities placements. Family obligations drew her closer to home where she focused on real estate transactions which included representing buyers, sellers and lenders. Desiring to protect her growing family, she attended a Living Trust Seminar sponsored by a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. Thus began a relationship which would span 9 years and grow from client to outside real estate counsel to full time estate planning attorney and lecturer. Mary’s desire to dedicate her efforts to one geographic area inspired her to create The Law Offices of Mary A. Miller, PC, an estate planning and elder law firm offering legal services in Westchester County, New York. Ms. Miller has been an attorney for twenty four years.

Education

Ms. Miller received her Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University, School of Business Administration in 1980, with a double concentration in Economics and Finance. Ms. Miller earned her Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1996.

Personal

Ms. Miller lives in Westchester County. She is the proud mother of two children. Although very dedicated to her work, she also enjoys hiking, cooking and spending time with her family every chance she gets.
